With An Crùbh now completed and operating successfully, there are many other projects and intiatives that the community want to develop over the coming years. Click on the tiles below to find out a little more.
An Crùbh
An Crùbh (The Hub) is a café, a shop, post office and events space at the centre of our community. Tha fàilte romhaibh!
Allt Duisdale Reservoir
Allt Duisdale Reservoir is a former Scottish Water reservoir which served Camuscross, Duisdale and Isle Ornsay. In February 2009, Scottish Water declared it redundant and put it up for auction. We heard about the auction only 13 days before the date it was to be sold.
Paths
The Paths Sub-group worked with Donald Kennedy, Highland Council’s Access Officer to develop the plan for a network of footpaths to link the village of Camuscross with Duisdale and also link Camuscross to An Crùbh, the potential housing development, and the existing paths in the forest at Brae Ord.

Opened in October 2021, with many thanks to Caledonia Play.

House sites
We have been working with Camuscross Common Grazings and Highland Small Communities Housing Trust to investigate the possibility of creating affordable house sites on the Common Grazings.
Local food
There is a growing interest amongst crofters and gardeners in Camuscross and Duisdale in growing more food and keeping more livestock.
